There will be lots of tips and resources for the small business owner looking to save a little money by creating marketing materials on their own. Best practices, basic information on file types and how to avoid costly mistakes will be a few of the topics covered. If you can’t afford a designer, can only hire a designer for a few projects, are a do-it-yourselfer who wants to learn more or just need some design tips to make your business look professional then this talk is for you. We’re planning for about an hour of schmoozing before hand.

This event will be in conjunction with Joule and likely taking place at their Minneapolis location. If you don’t know what Joule is and you’re a work-at-home small business owner, you are missing out! Check them out at cojoule.com

Date and time looking to be sometime in September!

I’ve now got room to stretch and have been slowly settling back into the swing of things. With any luck, I can update the website soon too, however, writing that probably jinxed that.

Now that the dust is settling I can get back to the grind full force. If you need something don’t hesitate to call or email!

It’s been a fast and furious road this last week. I was asked to help out with a redesign of a website, which quite quickly, became and entire rebranding effort.

The web developer for FarPoint Media asked if I could give him a hand creating the graphics to go over the top the new skeleton he was building for their website relaunch. I’m always happy to work with companies that are willing to take a fresh look at the direction they’re heading and agreed to updating the graphics a bit.

In the course of our work together the web developer suggested I “take a shot at updating the logo”. He mentioned that they may not go for a drastic redesign, but that it was worth a shot. He was impressed with what I came up with, we threw it into the new website design to get some reactions, and boy, did we get reactions.

From there it has been a mad flurry of updating any marketing and web materials with the old logo to the new logo and an overall “freshening up” of any other communications materials they needed.

Their excitement along with renewed excitement from their clients became a tidal wave—all stemming from updating their logo.
